We had professional pictures of Caroline done this morning. It will take a while for the proofs to come back, for us to pick which ones we want, and for them to eventually appear on the website. Caroline behaved very well during the pictures, except for pee'ing and spitting up on Daddy while he was holding her.

Krista's sister Tonya and her son Thomas arrived here today for a visit. This is the first time Tonya has seen Caroline and the first time Caroline has met either of her cousins (Thomas and Natalie). Tonya and Thomas will be here for a week visiting.
Of course, Aunt Tonya commented on how absolutely cute and adorable Caroline is.

Caroline is now 3 weeks old. She's doing very well and is filling out more. She's starting to get chubby cheeks, an extra chin, and a slight belly roll. This is all good news and totally expected.

Growth spurt?

We believe Caroline is going through a growth spurt right now. She's feeding with much shorter time-intervals and is hungry quite a bit more. We've also noticed that some of the clothes that fit her well when she first came home are starting to get a bit tighter and she won't be able to wear them much longer.

Caroline lost her little umbilical cord scab today! It happened early in the afternoon when we were changing her. We pulled up the onesie and found that the cord scab had come off inside the onesie. Her belly button looks good and she's doing well.

Grandpa Blaum and Grandpa Martin both arrived here late Wednesday night. Greg drove down to SeaTac Airport and picked them up. Even though there were very tired, they wanted to see little Caroline before they went to bed. Of course, they both ooo'd and aaahh'd over her, saying how cute she is. Now all of Caroline's grandparents are here visiting.

Outing Day

We just had to get out of the house for a bit on Monday, 3/20. So, Caroline, Krista, Greg, & Grandma Eva Mae Blaum all went to Bel-Square mall in Bellevue. We had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, which oddly enough was the place where Greg & Krista had their last meal out before Caroline was born.
This gave us a chance to try out the stroller and push Caroline around the indoor shopping mall for a bit. She behaved very well during our brief visit to the mall. Mommy bought her first pieces of post-partum clothing, Grandma found a nice pair of pants on a clearance rack, and Daddy bought a clock/CD player unit from The Sharper Image for Caroline's nursery.
Caroline got her first visit to a Tiffany's store while we were at the mall. Mommy said, "Caroline, this is a store you're going to like when you're older." Of course, this sent shivers up and down Daddy's spine... he he he
In what was probably a record, Daddy was able to walk past both Baby Gap and Gymboree without feeling the need to walk in and buy something for his little girl. Daddy was also able to resist stopping by his two favorite mall stops, Auntie Anne's pretzels and Orange Julius.

Caroline, Krista & Greg, and Grandma Blaum had more visitors on Sunday, 3/19. Our friends Glenn and Alison Adolph stopped by to see Caroline and to give gifts to the proud parents. Thanks to Glenn and Alison for taking time out of their busy weekend to come by. Once again, Grandma Blaum had yummies ready for our guests.
